Without a functioning liver, there is no healthy brain, no healthy gut, no healthy blood, no healthy skin. We constantly burden it with new toxins and sometimes it’s only by looking at diseases that we notice that this organ is having trouble with cleansing, regenerating and normalizing the function of the entire body.
Herbs, vinegars, healthy fats – all this supports liver detox, but I suspected that I needed something more.
I spent about two years preparing before I decided to try liver flushing . I listened to the stories of friends as well as strangers, I was convinced that it was worth it, and at the same time I was afraid of the process itself.
Because one of the things I dislike the most in life is… vomiting, which people were on the verge of in most of these stories 🙂
I started looking for different solutions and it turned out that in addition to the classic procedure, e.g. by Moritz, which I discuss below, people sometimes use milder methods that are also effective. Since I’m a coward, I decided to start with those.
1. Gentle method of liver cleansing (clever version)
For 4 consecutive evenings, for the last meal of the day (instead of dinner), drink a mixture of 12 egg yolks blended 1:1 with fresh citrus juice (grapefruit, lemon, orange, etc.).
And that’s it.
Super simple.
During the treatment, you can eat normally, just not an extremely fatty diet, and if you can eat a rather lean diet and skip dinner, that would be perfect.
To be honest, I was very surprised, because the taste of the cocktail was quite bearable so it went in smoothly. I didn’t feel sick, I slept normally, but… I felt terrible! I was so weak that I could barely crawl out of bed and on the second day I wanted to give it all up. Maybe this kind of flushing is gentle on the stomach, but it seemed that my body was barely breathing. Probably only out of a desire to see the experiment through to the end, I decided to make it to the fourth cocktail and on the next day… I literally got resurrected!
I got up in the morning, which was unbelievable in itself, and the sun was shining in my head, but also the 17-ton elephant I’d been carrying on my back for the previous decade suddenly vanished. I couldn’t believe that I didn’t have to struggle to crawl out of bed in the morning and that I wasn’t dragging one foot after the other all day or constantly thinking about sleeping.
Suddenly, I had so much energy and felt so light that I felt like exploding, and for the months that followed I slept little, seemingly without consequences 😉
I wondered why the effect of the detox was so dramatic, and it occurred to me that I had been taking so much medication that only a liver made of steel would be unharmed.
The removal of toxins had a truly spectacular effect, which I was never able to repeat later, so I conclude that this first flush got me out of a state of the maximum toxicity. I also suspect that this is why I felt so bad for those four days, because the flushed toxins flowed into the intestine and were not removed out of the body quickly enough.
In method 2, I fixed this problem 🙂
The mild method has the advantage of effectively removing toxins, but in my experience, it is not powerful enough to flush gallstones. Maybe if I used Epsom salt or some No-Spa pills, maybe something would also come out – I have to put this on my ‘to try’ list) 🙂
2. Aggressive liver flushing method (A. Moritz, H. Clark, B. Kazana)
The idea behind this method is to accumulate the maximum amount of bile and, with the force of a waterfall, push the deposits out of the gallbladder, liver and clear the bile ducts .
Some say that if used more often than once every 6 months, this method will not allow the liver to regenerate, others perform such a detox once a week for a year and post photos of a handful of green stones after each flush.
Moritz recommended once every 2-6 weeks until its completely clean, and I decided to flush once a month until I stopped feeling pressure in my right side (it appeared only after the first flush and went away after flushing out the final remains of the fluke).
For the uninitiated, cholesterol gallstones are also formed in the gallbladder. They are completely different than kidney stones – they actually don’t resemble stones at all, they are rather hard, green jelly beans 🙂
Since the consist mainly of fat, they float on the surface of water, soften and dissolve when exposed to heat.
The harder and darker the stone, the older it is most likely.
You should be aware that if the liver cannot get rid of toxins and pathogens it wraps them in fat, which is why in such stones can contain parasite eggs, pathogenic bacteria and toxins.
You can perform such a flush offhand, but wise practice suggests that it is better to prepare – it is best to first drink a liter of fresh apple juice every day for 1-2 weeks, a portion of apple cider vinegar, which softens the stones and helps release them more easily, or take about 500 mg of malic acid 3 times a day.
Of course, you should not perform such cleanses when you are sick, taking specific medications, or pregnant. You should also not flush the liver during chemotherapy, as this can significantly reduce its effect.
Obviously – use your head, as always.
It would also be wise to reserve 2 days for the procedure, or at least have half a day off on the ‘ day after the cleanse’. Calmness and peace of mind are extremely helpful, because in this case you need to relax.
The classic Moritz method looks like this:
Ingredients needed:
- fresh apple juice or malic acid,
- 4 tablespoons of Epsom salt dissolved in 3 glasses of water,
- 1/2 cup unfiltered, unrefined olive oil,
- 1/2 cup of fresh, clear lemon or grapefruit juice.
Method:
- for a week before the procedure, you should drink as much fresh apple juice as possible (at least 1 liter) or take 500 mg of malic acid 3 times a day,
- around 10:00 a.m. on the day of the cleanse, you should eat a light, fat-free breakfast and from then on do not eat anything,
- around 6:00 p.m. drink the first glass of dissolved Epsom salt (it tastes awful, some people find it helpful to drink it through a straw – I don’t 🙂),
- around 8:00 p.m. drink the second glass of dissolved Epsom salt,
- around 10:00 p.m., mix half a glass of olive oil with half a glass of fresh, clear lemon or grapefruit juice, drink it and immediately lie down on your right side, with your head slightly raised and your right leg tucked towards your chin – at this stage it would be best not to move at all, it would be best to simply fall asleep,
- in the morning, drink 1/2 cup of dissolved Epsom salt and relax,
- 2 hours later, drink the last half glass of dissolved Epsom salt,
- EAT NOTHING for the next 2 hours,
- introduce meals slowly and start with fresh fruit, nothing fatty.
- Not eating is not difficult at all because you don’t feel hungry for a long time.
My modified version looks like this:
- I drink apple cider vinegar constantly, so I skip the week of preparation,
- on the day of cleanse, of course, I don’t eat at all or drink only coffee for breakfast (since I don’t go to bed at 10:00 p.m., the whole process is postponed by a few hours),
- in the evening I swallow Epsom salt that I personally stuffed into gel capsules and drink plenty of water with vinegar so that the capsules dissolve in the stomach as quickly as possible,
- after two hours I repeat the procedure,
- after another two hours I mix the oil (not necessarily olive oil – sometimes milk thistle oil, sometimes linseed oil, sometimes evening primrose oil – the one that I have at home and that is the best quality) with one egg yolk and citrus juice – lemon works great here, but also grapefruit and orange taste really good, and after blending, the yolk combines the fat with the juice and a really tasty emulsion is formed,
- I lie down on my right side and for half an hour I additionally warm up this area (with a hot water bottle, a bottle of warm water, an electric pillow, and recently an infrared lamp), the position on my back with my head slightly raised is also good,
- I go to sleep,
- In the morning, I clean out my intestine, inspect the findings, draw conclusions and rise from the dead 🙂
Under no circumstances can you be full. Contrary to what you might think, this mixture is not difficult to drink and does not cause nausea. Except for one case – when you don’t have an empty stomach. The only time my stomach rebelled was when I decided that I was doing so well that I can have some dinner Oh, how I regretted it. How I regretted it. So I strongly advise against 🙂 it. Otherwise, it’s not that bad, really.
By the way, only after using this method did I feel for the first time the stones travelling down along my right side like wagons. A very interesting experience.
A day later, you should carefully return to eating, it is best to starve yourself for half a day and only then slowly start with a light, non-greasy meal. Otherwise, you might have indigestion and decide to never do this again. Fortunately most people report that they are not hungry at all for at least half a day. That is helpful 🙂
Oh, there is also this critically important ‘E’ word, which nobody likes, but without cleaning the intestines, you walk around with a pool of toxins inside and feel veeeery bad, whereas after cleaning them – you feel like a newborn. Right away. It’s incredible.
It is best to do it before and after the procedure as this opens the way for the excretion of toxins and it is easier to flush them out later. However, if I had to choose, I would choose to have the enema ‘after’.
Instead of an enema, you can also use a laxative, such as Epsom salt, but it is neither convenient, nor fast, nor effective.
The recipe for a coffee enema according to Dr. Gerson’s daughter: take it without sugar and without cream 🙂
But seriously – put 3-5 tablespoons of freshly ground high quality coffee in a pot and boil it covered for 15 minutes in clean water, then dissolve it in 1-1.5 liters of cool water util it is at body temperature (never pour hot liquids into the intestine, while a cold liquid will cause cramps and quick unpleasantness).
And you’re done.
There are thousands of recipes for enema solutions, you can also just use boiled water but coffee is famous for helping to detoxify the liver so it’s not a bad idea to use it before or after the procedure.
Just don’t do it before going to sleep, because it will give you a boost!
Also, if you are prone to disgust, I encourage you to leave that tendency outside the bathroom door and put on your explorer hat – there are many things you can find in contents that washed out of your intestines, not only green stones (my largest one was over 2 cm) or worms, but some people’s findings included the peel of a tomato that they had eaten 10 years earlier. It is an extremely educational experience for a person who wants to learn something about himself or herself. You can discover that not everything works as efficiently and smoothly as we would like to think, and that surprises can be hiding in the intestines, and what’s worse – they stay there for years.
Yes, it is unpleasant, so some people think that if they close their eyes and don’t think about it, the problem disappears. But the problem remains and it has a huge impact on health and well-being. Therefore it is worthwile to get a grip, clean your intestines, and at least take a look, even if you have to squint. And a dense strainer and a plastic fork is a rather small investment 🙂
If I still feel pressure in my right side after the procedure, I plan to repeat the fun within 2-4 weeks.
Sometimes I go to an osteopath who relaxes the tension around the liver, and sometimes he tells me that he feels a procession of stones being released.
I like osteopaths.
It is worth knowing that stones are not only deposited in the gallbladder, but also in the liver, so even after removing the gallbladder, people still have colic due to clogged bile ducts. So for the life of me I can’t understand where the procedure of cutting it out comes from. Why can’t the gallbladder be opened, cleaned and sewn up when it is inflamed? It is by no means an unnecessary organ and I have instructed my husband to never let anyone cut it out under any circumstances if there is an emergency.
Andreas Moritz describes that he survived 40 gallbladder attacks before he decided to start flushing it, and after the first treatment he counted about 3500 stones; He repeated the procedure a few more times until he stopped having those attacks. The attacks are terrible and last up to several days, although in Moritz;s case the longest one lasted 3 weeks, but in the majority of cases gallbladder removal is not an effective long-term solution. Deposits will continue to form in the liver, and if not removed, they will eventually clog the bile duct, producing the same final effect. I understand that sometimes it really is necessary, but it seems that this ‘sometimes’ should be preceded by at least an attempt to flush the organ, instead of a routine removal.
3. The ‘something in between’ method
I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m planning to because I must admit it’s not easy for me to organize my life around method no. 2 as often as I would like to.
The “in-between” method is based on the assumption that all you have to do is relax the bile ducts and stimulate the gallbladder to empty itself by eating ordinary, fatty food.
We prepare for the procedure in the same way as described above, i.e. first you should starve yourself a bit, eat a light fat-free breakfast (or not eat at all), take some Epsom salt or No-Spa, but instead of struggling with a glass of a fatty smoothie, you simply eat a few eggs or even only yolks as in method no. 1.
You can also do it in the morning and not worry about the problem of ‘not eating before’.
Some even claim that Epsom salt alone is enough to help clean the stones, and this theory can be easily confirmed or debunked with a little bit of determination and perseverance of a gold digger.
4. Prevention, however, is the best and that’s why it’s worth using herbs that strengthen and detoxify the liver (milk thistle, dandelion, speedwell, tansy, turmeric, ready-made mixtures), and incorporating good fats in your diet which force the gallbladder to release bile more intensively and acids that dissolve the deposits. It is not a mistake to enrich your diet with fresh apple juice, apple cider vinegar and herbal vinegars and, for example, milk thistle oil. Choline is also important for the liver. Regular consumption of acid and fat will cause constant and gentle cleansing of the bile system. Dramatic solutions are only used when they are clearly necessary: when you know you have deposits or you feel a ‘stinging in your side’ or even get a colic, but also after deworming. Then it is actually worth trying to flush the entire system, because you can save the organ that surgeons will cut out without batting an eye.
A microscopic percentage of people ends up with a colic attack after flushing. Although extremely rare, it does happen. Therefore, it is a good idea to prepare properly for flushing, taking the time to dissolve or at least soften the deposits so that they can flow out freely. If we take care of this part and properly relax the bile ducts (Epsom or No-Spa) and warm up the side while lying down (hot water bottle, infrared lamp), there shouldn’t be any problems.
In my opinion, it is important to modify your lifestyle so that it regularly includes this process that aids the removal of deposits from the liver and the gallbladder. It doesn’t have to be anything spectacular, just make sure that your daily diet includes the right food containing healthy fats and acids. In this way, we stimulate the liver to constantly cleanse itself and we should never find ourselves on an operating table.
Is it better to flush the liver before or after deworming?
In general, it is better to do this afterwards, because if it turns out that you have a liver fluke, for example, then you can get rid of it. However, it seems to me that a prophylactic flushing once every 6-12 months should be done by everyone suffering from the so-called civilization diseases.
Flushing out toxins and unclogging the bile ducts can dramatically improve your condition in the case of cancer, hearing problems, arthritis, skin diseases, diabetes, heart disease, and many other, seemingly unrelated ailments. The only people that cannot do this are those with surgically removed intestines or people who have a stent in the gallbladder. And also people on chemotherapy, as I mentioned above.
In addition, flushing the liver once in a while has a chance to improve everyone’s well-being.
